I'm 33 years old and grew up in the East Anglia region of England. I moved to Berlin, Germany by myself in 2014... and I ain't planning on leaving.

I speak German (actively use at work every day) and French (fluently for a while, but I'm currently a bit out of practice). I also have a basic general knowledge of a couple of Slavic languages.

Python, specifically the Django web framework, made me fall in love with programming. Given my somewhat unusual path into it all, this is my coding origin story, if you're curious.

Reading is my lifelong passion and when I'm not working, you'll most likely find me chipping away at my 600-strong TBR list stuck in a good book. Not into any particular genres, but I do veer towards novels and memoirs with themes of self-discovery and/or a strong sense of place.

I've been vegan for 13 years and wouldn't have it any other way! Here are some of my favourite places to eat in Berlin.

I wait all year for autumn; it's when I feel most alive. My favourite months are the 'ber months.

I don't use any calendar apps, which is just my personal preference. If we're meeting up for coffee, you can be sure I'll be writing it down in my planner, and if there are any appointments the household needs to know about, they're going on the wall calendar.
